Hello, my name is Amy Sheppard, an artist through and through. I've been a watercolor painter since I was 14. I also do paper quilling, put together dollhouses, and scrapbooking but I fell head over heels in love with glass fusing just a short while ago. While visiting my parents in 2018, my mom showed me how to make a fused glass sun catcher in her new kiln. When I returned home, glass fusing turned into my full time hobby. I started out with microwave kilns, working and cutting glass in my kitchen. I even bought a new microwave just for that. I went through 4 of those little things in a matter of months so I have since upgraded to a small personal kiln. I hope to have my own studio one day with multiple kilns, where I can hold classes and teach fused glass.
